Hi,

Another quick tip from the Learnmartialartsonline.net monthly newsletter!

***This Month’s Tip – Practice quick attacks. When facing an opponent you should know the quickest attack possible, so that you can get yours in first. Good examples are kicking the attacker’s knee/shin nearest to you with your leading leg. It’s fast, it’s also usually the closest part of the opponent to you. Other possible “quick targets” are the attacker’s leading knee, grabbing their leading arm if their guard is sloppy and using that to effect a quick arm lock (watch out for kicks as you get in close). Ideally look for the areas of your attacker that are closest to you at any given moment and use the parts of your body (feet, hands, head, shoulders, knees) that are nearest to these targets to attack them.
